Also, GC AI parses documents and PDFs better, analyzes hundreds of documents at once, has ‘Exact Quote’ capabilities, and considers the context of your company for the legal answers. We also have Easy Prompt, a prompt optimizing feature designed for in-house lawyers. GC AI adds new features weekly. 

GC AI will ask a few questions about your company when you create your account. GC AI saves this information in your / your team's private database to improve and tailor your answers. Think of creating your company profile like spending a few minutes with your new legal intern to explain your company's legal positions, ways, and even quirks.

GC AI uses multiple LLMs from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Cohere for different functionality. We constantly test new models to integrate into our system.

GC AI is good for most in-house lawyers, and best for generalist in-house lawyers who:

• Want answers that are concise and to-the-point, typically for busy stakeholders.

• Serve as Product Counsel, especially in consumer or where you are advising on issues where up-to-the-minute legal advice particularly matters.

• Handle a wide variety of different contracts (Note: if a very high volume of your work is on one specific contract on your own form, we might not be the best legal AI for you. That’s OK! We’ll get there.) 

• Don’t often research hidden caselaw. For settled rules, GC AI doesn’t often cite case law unless you ask for. Why? In our experience, in-house clients don’t usually want to read a lot of cases. They just want the answer. 

Different legal AIs are good at different things. If your practice is specialized, other tools may be better, and we’ll happily recommend them. For example, if you are an in-house patent attorney and want a tool to find prior art, other tools may be better. On the other hand, if you’re asking for help with an outline for training on the steps in the patent process, GC AI would answer that better than other AIs. 

Yes, legal team members can use GC AI as long as another attorney on the team is also using it. This is because our position (and where we think courts will come out on this) is that the internal notes and questions/history of an attorney in the course of doing their work are privileged.

For now, effective prompting affects your outputs, even though GC AI is better than other AIs in being more socratic or pausing to ask if it needs clarification. We expose the AI to you more directly than other structured tools in part because we think you have the capabilities to think critically and assess answers.

GC AI assists with legal work across jurisdictions worldwide.

• For research, GC AI leverages the power of the internet to provide relevant legal information and support for different legal systems. We call this feature Web Search. Hundreds of global customers from Canada, Australia, and the UK have found GC AI helpful for their work. GC AI can also read laws in different languages if you instruct it to. You should know, however, that if you are looking specifically for very niche case law that is only available in a closed or pay-walled system, you may want to use one of those systems in addition to GC AI.

• For commercial contracts or any other “four corners” tasks, where you have the document that you want to work with on AI, you can tell GC AI which jurisdiction to apply or consider. For example, “review this agreement under German law.”
