LegalOn Review [2026]: Pricing, Features, and GC AI
By Caitlin Price, Social Media & Content Marketer•Published
LegalOn is an AI platform that helps legal teams review contracts, propose edits in Word, and apply playbooks: reusable rules for preferred terms and acceptable fallbacks. Its packages also cover contract storage, intake, and matter management.
For an in-house team, the work often continues after the redline. A disputed clause may need legal research, an amendment may change the renewal date, and the business still needs a clear recommendation. That is where GC AI comes in.
GC AI is a turnkey enterprise legal AI platform for in-house counsel, used by 2,100+ legal teams across 45+ countries, including Lockheed Martin, Nextdoor, SKIMS, and Zscaler. GC AI combines your company’s negotiation positions with contract review and cited legal research. That gives you more time for the judgment calls: weighing risk, negotiating the right terms, and advising the business.
How LegalOn Handles Contract Review and Drafting
LegalOn's Review product identifies potential risks, ranks issues, and proposes edits to contract clauses based on the selected playbook. It can use prebuilt guidance or, with the relevant package, your company's own positions. The workflow covers both your templates and agreements supplied by counterparties.
LegalOn can apply preferred and fallback language during review. Your team's judgment determines whether a proposed change fits the deal. For a liability cap, that means checking related definitions and exceptions as well as the clause itself.
LegalOn Assistant, its conversational AI tool, answers questions about contracts and drafts language from the context provided. In Word, attorneys can also use clause libraries and templates to prepare a replacement clause or a first draft.
LegalOn also offers prompt workflows across practice areas, including legal research. Ask which sources and jurisdictions those workflows cover and how you can inspect the authority behind an answer.
My Playbooks and Playbook Agent: Turn Precedents Into Standards
LegalOn offers 135+ prebuilt playbooks and custom My Playbooks. Teams can express preferred positions, fallback language, and risk tolerances in plain English. Playbook Agent can turn templates, review guidelines, and prior redlines into structured playbook material.
Your team decides which past negotiations should become standing rules. A prior redline may record an approved fallback or a concession made for one customer. Have an attorney approve the playbook and keep its positions current as the business changes.
LegalOn's International Playbooks provide jurisdiction-specific guidance. Choose a playbook that matches your side of the deal, governing law, and business context, then confirm its coverage of the legal issues you need to review.
Word, Cross-Document Review, and Vault
LegalOn works in a browser and through a Microsoft Word add-in. The add-in supports tracked changes, questions and summaries, drafting, and searching prior agreements for language to reuse. During evaluation, confirm that the saved document preserves formatting, comments, and tracked changes in your team's Word environment.
Cross-Document Review can use related agreements, such as amendments or side letters, alongside the primary agreement. Separately, LegalOn allows up to 20 files in one Assistant conversation. The 20-file limit applies to an Assistant conversation, not necessarily to Cross-Document Review or Vault. Confirm the file-count, file-size, and contract-length limits for the workflow you plan to use.
For a master services agreement (MSA), order form, and amendment, identify which terms govern today. If an amendment changes the renewal period, verify the revised deadline against the provisions that support it.
LegalOn Vault stores contracts and extracts obligations, renewal dates, and custom fields into editable tables, with email notifications tied to terms and assignees. For a renewal decision, that can bring the deadline, notice conditions, and responsible person together. Check the source provisions before acting.
LegalOn Pricing and Packages
As of October 14, 2026, LegalOn lists three packages and provides custom quotes based on team size and features. It does not publish dollar prices. Ask for the package and add-ons in writing so you can compare the full cost of the capabilities your team needs.
| Package | Included Capabilities | Buying Implication |
|---|---|---|
| Core Review | AI review and redlining, Assistant chat, prebuilt playbooks, templates, repository/search, and Word and web access | Covers the individual review workflow with prebuilt playbooks. |
| Contracting Suite | Core Review plus My Playbooks, Playbook Agent, Vault Repository and Projects, team onboarding/support, and listed enterprise access controls | Lists custom-playbook and team capabilities; confirm the required configuration in your quote. |
| Productivity Suite | Contracting Suite plus Matter Management, intake and triage agents, dashboards, and matter intelligence | Adds business-request intake and matter management. |
LegalOn says every plan includes unlimited contract review, redlining, document storage and search, and LegalOn Assistant use. Confirm usage conditions, storage needs, renewal terms, and any alternative add-on arrangement in the order form.
Implementing LegalOn also requires staff time. Someone must approve standards, configure access, select evaluation documents, train reviewers, and maintain the playbooks. Plans include guided onboarding and training; Contracting Suite adds team onboarding and dedicated support. Establish which setup tasks your team must handle and what the written quote includes.
Security and Data Handling: Review the Contractual Scope
LegalOn reports SOC 2 Type II certification, ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, and ISO/IEC 27017:2015 certification. It also states that customer accounts are segregated and data is encrypted. Request the current reports and confirm that their scope covers the service you will purchase.
LegalOn's no-training commitment covers third-party foundational models. Review storage, permitted processing, retention, and deletion separately in the subscription terms, data processing agreement, and order form.
Before uploading evaluation documents, check the sensitive-data restrictions in section 2.4 of LegalOn's data processing agreement. They cover categories such as government identifiers, health information, financial credentials, and GDPR special-category data. They are not a blanket ban on ordinary personal data. Confirm that your proposed documents comply with the agreement that governs your account.
Obtain the current subprocessor list and confirm hosting and residency for the proposed deployment. For an evaluation, arrange export and retention of your work before access ends; LegalOn's terms warn that evaluation data may be lost.
Test Redlining and Amendment Analysis Separately
A useful LegalOn pilot shows how much work remains before you can send a redline or advise the business. Test individual contract review and amendment analysis separately. The steps below are a proposed evaluation based on public documentation checked on October 14, 2026; this article does not report hands-on test results.
- Choose familiar work: Use an authorized nondisclosure agreement (NDA) and commercial agreement your team has reviewed, plus an MSA, order form, and amendment from one deal. Keep the attorney-approved conclusions separate so you can check the results against them.
- Provide your positions: Specify your side of the deal, preferred terms, fallbacks, and escalation criteria. Record the package and features enabled, and agree on what an acceptable result must include.
- Ask for usable outputs: Request an issue list and Word redline for each agreement. For the related documents, ask which payment and renewal terms apply, with supporting provisions. Save the instructions and original outputs.
- Review the reasoning: Have an attorney check missed issues, unnecessary changes, and incorrect references. Trace proposed edits through related definitions and exceptions. For amendments, verify execution status, effective dates, and precedence.
- Measure the work through approval: Check formatting, comments, tracked changes, and authorship in your usual Word environment. Include verification and cleanup in the time it takes to prepare the counterparty document and the business recommendation.
Include research, repository, or intake tasks when they are part of the purchase, and confirm Word add-in deployment with IT. If you compare products directly, check whether LegalOn's subscription terms permit your proposed test or obtain written permission; section 4.3 restricts benchmarking and competitive analysis.
